Just 18 km from the city of Florencia, Caquetá, in the Orteguaza district, is located the Las Palmas Ecotourism Reserve, a project dedicated to the conservation and restoration of ecosystems. This experience will take you to know the Botache Galindo family and their history “from livestock to tourism.”
You will learn to distinguish the different species of palms that exist in the Amazon and their uses. You will enter the bowels of the earth, discovering the Cave of Colors. You will arrive at the Charco del Amor and there you will be greeted by hundreds of little fish swimming calmly underwater. Finally, delight your palate with Doña Lili's exquisite seasoning, a secret touch from the field to the table.
- The meeting point to travel to the Las Palmas Ecotourism Reserve is El Terminalito, specifically the Don Pan bakery or, failing that, from the hotel where the traveler is staying.
- From Florencia to the Las Palmas Reserve it is 18 km, we always leave in 4x4 transport (a family Land Rover), sometimes in vans or if the traveler prefers, they can arrive in their vehicle (preferably 4x4) or motorcycle of any cylinder. .
- During the route you pass 3 bridges, one hanging over the Orteguaza River (72 m) and two sidewalk bridges; Rocky Mountain (12 m), Santa Barbara (8 m).
- In the reserve, the experience is divided into several moments: history, interpretation of the natural heritage, wellness experience in the Cueva de los Colores, free bathing in the Charco del Amor and lunch at the kiosks.
- The circuit that is covered is 3 km, between the reserve reception, the Cueva de los Colores and the Charco del Amor.
