Commitment to Sustainability

  • Respect for marine fauna: Whale encounters are carried out in a non-invasive manner, encouraging observation from the viewing point and beaches without disturbing their habitat.
  • Supporting the local economy: All activities and services are provided by community members, ensuring that economic benefits remain in the region.
  • Environmental Conservation: Environmental education and sustainable practices are promoted in all activities, including responsible harvesting in mangroves and artisanal fishing.

Cultural preservation: The transmission of ancestral knowledge, such as the production of crafts, traditional music and local cuisine, is valued and promoted.

Differentiating Encounters with Guapi-Gorgona Whales

  • Non-invasive whale encounters: Unlike boat-based whale watching practices common in other places, observations are promoted here from the coast and viewing points, minimising the impact on the cetaceans. On the other hand, the possibility of listening to whale songs from the coast or during snorkelling without specialised equipment represents a significant differential value.
  • Deep integration with local communities: Active participation in daily activities such as planting on rooftops, preparing cocadas and harvesting in mangroves, offering authentic cultural immersion.
  • Exclusive access to Gorgona National Natural Park: Gorgona Island, with its unique history as a former prison and its exceptional biodiversity, combines nature and culture in an environment that is unparalleled in other Pacific destinations.
  • Focus on sustainability: The plan incorporates practices that guarantee respect for nature and promote the socioeconomic development of local communities, standing out as a model of responsible tourism.
  • Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity: Traditional songs, lullabies and marimba music from the South Pacific are part of the experience, integrating cultural expressions that enrich the trip.
  • Viche as a unique element: In addition to being an ancestral drink, viche is presented as an experience of cultural and spiritual connection, a differential aspect compared to other destinations.
